We have attended all our events for 2015. Keep an eye out for event announcements in 2016!
We always look forward to Leeds Brewer’s Market at Canal Mills and, as usual, this year did not disappoint!
Armed with 12 kegs and a five-tap bar, we headed over the Pennines to Leeds on the Friday morning. It was great to see our friends from Wylam Brewery, Tall Boys Beer Market, Mac Shac, Boozy Q BBQ and the Craft Beer Hour guys – to mention just a few! Over the weekend we sampled some brilliant beers and amazing food, and we were blown away by the artist’s work!
It was fun to chat to everyone who attended the Brewers Market and great to hear your feedback on our beers – the Badlands and White Fox proving to be particularly popular over the two days.
Tired and sad that the weekend had come to an end, we packed up on Sunday morning and headed back to Liverpool. Until next time Leeds!
Last week we received a delivery of two shiny new fermenting vessels at the brewery.
They have been unwrapped and carefully maneuvered into place, and today they brew their first batch of beer – Love Lane!
They are a welcome addition to the brewery as each tank will increase our brewing capacity by 1600 litres, and they will brew lots of Love Lane to help cope with the unprecedented and growing demand!
For the third year on the run, we were at the Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia with our ten tap craft beer bar.
As well as our very own Love Lane, White Fox IPA and Psych Rye, we had loads of craft beer on from the likes of Camden, Magic Rock, Beavertown, Revolutions and FourPure. We also had our Springbock Rye and Pzyk Diablo on cask. This is one of our favourite festivals to attend and we can’t wait to see what the 2016 festival brings!
The Independent Liverpool Festival brought together some of the best independent food and drink Liverpool has to offer!
Over the two day festival, we were there to provide the people of Liverpool with some of the best craft beer around. As well as Liverpool Craft Beer, we featured breweries such as Founders, Sierra Nevada, Magic Rock and our neighbours, Mad Hatter. The festival finished with an intense game of beer pong. We’d like to thank to guys behind Independent Liverpool and everyone who made the festival possible for inviting us along.
In collaboration with the Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia, we have created PZYK DIABLO.
A 4.8% Pale Ale brewed with Chilean Yerba Maté tea, a type of South American green tea popular in Chile – the home of Psychedelia. The tea creates a light fruity and herbal pale ale without overpowering the flavour of the beer and we love it! Available to buy in bottles and cask for a limited time only.
In July, we were invited to attend the Birmingham Beer Bash!
We took our ten tap bar down and had three one-off brews on draft; BBQ IPA, Spanner IPA and Siam Legend (a beer brew with all the flavours of Thailand). We also featured beers from guest breweries Sacre Brew, Pilot Brewery, Red Willow Brewery, Runaway Brewery as well as others.
There was a fantastic range of beers available on cask and keg from a diverse range of breweries. This festival keeps getting bigger and better each year.
Keep an eye out for announcements about the 2016 festival!
To celebrate the 2015 Rugby World Cup, we have brewed up Springbok Rye.
A 4.5% rye beer brewed with South African hops, J17. We are the first brewery in the UK to use these hops! Springbok Rye is available for a limited time only on cask.
EXCITING NEWS! BrewDog Liverpool approached us to see if we’d like to participate in Collab Fest 2015. Of course we said yes!
Each year, BrewDog bars across the UK pick a local brewery to create a collaboration beer with to enter their annual Collab Fest Tap Takeover. The beer we have chosen to make is top secret until the Tap Takeover which takes place on the 10th October. Our head brewer Terry will be in attendance for the first try of ours and all the other BrewDog Collab beers.
See you at the bar!
Our third craft beer expo was our biggest yet!
Held in Constellations based in the Baltic Triangle, the expo had over 100 casks and 70 kegs spread over seven bars, including a brand new German beer bar. We also had a whiskey den as well as some amazing food on across the weekend. 3,500 people attended over the three day event and we’d like to thank everyone who came along, including all the breweries and all our beery volunteers who helped make 2015 our best expo to date. We’re already planning our 2016 expo.

We were kindly asked to curate the first ever ‘Craft Beer Quarter’ at this year’s NRB in Manchester. We built a huge keg bar & asked some of our friends to join us.
We welcomed in Fourpure, Cloud Water, Meantime, Harviestoun, Freedom & Tatton brewery to showcase a modern, diverse range of beers to the 7,000 strong attendees.
Last year we brewed a beer with our friends & favourite designers – SB Studio for their 100/100 beer project. 100 beer labels, 100 designers.
We made a 5% wheat beer, brewed with blood oranges, coriander and Belgian candy.
The book has now been published & beer launch dates are imminent. Read more & pick up a copy here:
The Three Bears are here! We first brewed a collaborative beer with our chums at Camp and Furnace back in 2011 – Brown Bear, a 5.4% English pale ale. Well Brown Bear now has two new bros – White Bear and Black Bear.
White Bear is a 4.8% bottle conditioned wheat beer brewed with malted wheat and sharpened with gooseberries, while Black Bear is a deep, rich 4.6% Porter, brewed with roasted malts, oats and a glug of Canadian maple syrup.
Both beer launch at this Friday’s Food Slam!
The Liverpool Echo printed little write up about the brewery & what to expect in 2015. Read the article here…
Today we took delivery of two new brewing vessels.
The 2,000 litre shiny beauties will be used for fermenting and conditioning even more of our delicious beer.
We’ll be filling them up with tons of Love Lane Pale next week!
In case you missed the original post, here’s a film portrait of the brewery from the guys at ‘There is More’.
